Few days ago, precisely on Monday 4th of August 2025. The West African Examinations Council WAEC released 2025 results. In the course of announcing the results, the Examination body revealed that there was a sharp decline in performance compared to the previous year.
It announced that out of a total of 1,969,313 candidates who sat the examination across 23,554 schools, only 754,545 candidates representing 38.32 per cent obtained a minimum of five credits, including English Language and Mathematics. This marks a significant 33.8 per cent drop from the 72.12 per cent recorded in 2024.
The drop in performance can be attributed to the Council’s new approach of serialising objective test papers in key subjects such as English, Mathematics, Biology, and Economics.
This approach drastically reduced the incidence of collusion and made examination malpractice more difficult.
The examination was conducted between April 24 and June 20, 2025, while coordination and marking took place from July 3rd to 21st.
WAEC also deployed a real-time digital scoring system to enhance the speed and accuracy of result processing.
Of the total candidates, 1,517,517 (77.06 per cent) had their results fully processed and released, while 451,796 (22.94 per cent) are still being processed due to technical issues, which WAEC assured would be resolved in the coming days.
On examination malpractice, 192,089 results representing 9.75 per cent are currently being withheld for offenses including the use of banned mobile phones and collusion. This is a slight improvement from the 11.92 per cent withheld in 2024.
However, despite the drop in the performance this year, Nihmar-Raheem International Schools demonstrated brilliance as all the 6 candidates that sat for the exam, who are the 1st Set of the School, m got a superlative scores and had smooth ride in clearing all their results with intimidating grades in their debut scintillating first attempt.
Checks into the students results indicated that Ayinla Mujibah Olaide scored 3As, 3Bs, 2Cs, Sulaiman Majidah Ayomide earned 1A, 2Bs, 5Cs, while Yusuf Maryam Ajia got 4As, 2Bs, 2Cs.
Similarly, Usman Usman Damilola had his result cleared with 1A, 5Bs, 3Cs,
Hamzat Ibrahim Akanbi gearnerd 3As, 5Bs as Ukashat Idrees Abdullah carted away 2As, 5Bs, 1C.
It should be noted that their positive performance was not by accident but highly anticipated having been thoroughly groomed by the school for local and international Examinations.
Nihmar-Raheem International Schools established on August 28, 2019, by Fadilat Shaykh Abdullah Olohunkemi Arademi, with a vision to groom great leaders who are grounded in Islamic principles and academic excellence is no doubt yielding fruits.
The mission and vision to integrate a robust secular curriculum with a comprehensive Islamic education, including Tahfizul Quran (Quran memorization) now being realized as this unique approach aimed at producing students who are not only academically proficient but also morally upright, intellectually sound, and spiritually aware.
It is worthy of note, that this year’s WAEC was conducted in a manner that attracted public condemnation where students were made to write examinations late night off hours in some centres across the federation, yet Nihmar-Raheem students had a smooth sail to earn superb results.
Reacting to the results, President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Chief Yomi Otubela applauded students who were not deterred with late night examinations conducted by WAEC but still came out with flying colours in their results.
It becomes imperative to give credit to Nihmar-Raheem International Schools, teachers, parents and everyone that contributed immensely to the success of the students. Parents and guardians of the students also eulogized for being responsive to their children and wards when the need arises.

  1. The NRIS results (both JAMB and WAEC) are testaments of the hard-work and smart-work, dedication and perseverance as well as the enthusiasm of the management, staff and the parents of Nihmar Raheem International schools over the past 5 years. It’s not a surprise that the school has this kind of output because ‘where much is given, much is expected.’
    Al hamdulillah for the achievements.

This is only the beginning and I believe it can only get better!
