Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria has condemned in strong terms Israel continued genocide in Palestine.
The Group made condemnation while rising from its just concluded special meeting in Abuja.
It called on the International Community not to continue to watch helplessly the barbaric and senseless killing of innocent women, children and the elderly in Gaza by Israel.
The Media Group raised a serious alarm over the killings of some International Journalists by Israel in Gaza two weeks ago.
It noted that no fewer than twelve Journalists belonging to various World Media Organizations including Al-Jazeera have been massacred for doing their professional duties in line with ethical standard in Palestine.
In a resolution, adopted at the end of the contained in a Press Statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the Group Dr. Yusuf Agbabiaka, the Group described the acts of Israel as devilish and inhuman.
The Non Governmental Organization charged all well-meaning Nigerians irrespective of their faiths to condemn Israel unjustifiable killing of innocent people for no just cause.
The Group wondered why the Nigerian Union of Journalists [NUJ], Nigerian Guild of Editors [N.G.E], the West African Journalists Association [WAJA] and the International Press Institute [I.P.I] have been silent over the terrible killing of International Journalists men and women, young and old, which is believed is being done by Israel to conceal its war crimes in Palestine.
The Media Group berated President Trump of America on his ‘finish the job order’ to Israel and described both America and Israel as Zionists wrecking evils across the world.
It implored United Nations [UN] not to watch helplessly the humanitarian crises being created by the two Nations as it is dangerous to world peace.
On the fresh wave of insecurity in Nigeria which has spread to Plateau, Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina and Kwara State, the Group tasked the Federal and State Governments especially in the Northern parts of Nigeria to redouble their efforts in securing their territories.
The Group Media Group appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct the Nigeria Police to make annual recruitment into the Police Force and training of their human capital more holistic than what it is presently.
On security generally, the Islamic Organization wondered how Nigeria still face serious security problems with more than 27 Security Agencies operating in the Country and advocated for a re-appraisal of their activities as national intelligence to secure this Country has failed.
Arising from the economic gains of petrol subsidy withdrawal since June 2023, the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, called for ploughing the gains into areas of high productivity such as increased power generation and distribution to consumers including manufacturing industries, reduction of poverty through Government purchase and sale of food items at reduced costs to the masses and productive agricultural revolution
It pointed out that distributing the bulk of Nation’s monthly generated revenues to the 36 States and FCT as total waste as most State Governors appears to be mismanaging the increased allocation being given to them.
MMWG also accused the Plateau State Government of promoting insecurity by using its Ministry of Justice to frustrate prosecution of serious criminal offences featuring loss of innocent lives.
