Parents and guardians have been charged to always identify education interest of their children and wards to discover their passion, weakness and strength.
 Principal, Gaa Imam Community Junior Secondary School, Ilorin, Mallam Garba Abdulwahab-Babaleke gave the charge today while delivering lecture on the topic ” Role of Parents In Encouraging Children To Study Globally Competitive Courses” at the End of Summer Lesson Ceremony organized by Popo Igbonna Progressive Union PIPU.
Mallam Abdulwahab-Babaleke tasked the parents to also instil self-confidence on their children to enable them realize their full potential in their chosen careers.
He advocated access to resources and supportive environment as central to children success.
In his address of welcome, President Popo Igbonna Progressive Union PIPU, Professor Ismail Orisankoko, acknowledged parents and guardians for entrusting their children with the leadership of PIPU in the just concluded Summer Lesson.
Professor Orisankoko represented by his his Vice, Mallam Nurudeen Idris Onipe highlighted the effort of the union in entrenching sound education in the Community.
He appreciated those who have contributed to development of the community financially and morally.
In his remark, Pioneer PIPU President, Babatunde Alubarika identified knowledge acquisition, positive disposition and truthfulness as essential ingredients of life.
He said knowledge acquired at childhood highly impactful and urged them to always be of good disposition and appealed to the pupils and students to refrain from acts that impede their precious future.
Glowing tributes were paid to Former PIPU President, Mallam Issa Abdulrazaq, Former Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Adimode and Former Treasurer, Dr Abdulkadir Alasela who were late Executive Members of the union in a special prayer led by Imam of Popo Igbonna Mosque Shaikh Zakariyyah Tanmaawo Saadu.
The event was laced with recitation of Qur’an, presentations of gifts and pupils performance and eulogy (Ewi) among others.
