Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (KWCONOO), has successfully relocated its staff and students to Ilorin, following security unrest in parts of Kwara South and Central senatorial districts.
A Statement by its Press Secretary, AbdulHafeez Oyewole today said the institution has temporarily moved its operations from Oke-Ode to the Institute of Technology (I.O.T), Mini Campus of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
The College management expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for approving the relocation of its activities to the temporary learning site.
According to the statement, the relocation exercise, which began on Monday and was concluded on Wednesday, was personally supervised by the College Provost, Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQaudri.
It explained that academic activities have since resumed fully at the new location, with lectures ongoing for students of Nursing and Midwifery.
Speaking while addressing teaching and Non-Teaching staff on Thursday, the Provost welcomed them to the temporary site, describing the move as a necessary response to the emergency security situation in Oke-Ode.
He urged them to remain committed, punctual, and dedicated to their duties despite the change in environment.
During a tour of the new lecture halls for students’ lectures, Alhaji AbdulQaudri also charged the students to adapt positively, maintain discipline, and be security conscious.
He encouraged them to focus on their studies and assured them of management’s continued support.
The Provost further expressed optimism that normalcy would soon return to Oke-Ode, paving the way for the eventual return of the College to its permanent site.
