Nigeria Evangelical Fellowship has called on the Federal Government to take stronger measures against terrorist groups, bandits, and violent militias operating across the country.
This was contained in a statement released at the end of the organisation’s 60th Anniversary Summit held in Abuja between November 3 and 6, 2025.
According to the communiqué, the organisation noted the continued cases of religious and ethnic-inspired attacks, violence, and destruction of communities in various parts of the country, and urged the government to prioritise national security and stability.
The Fellowship called for the arrest, prosecution, and disarmament of armed groups threatening public safety, according to its resolution.
It also urged authorities to support collaborative strategies to counter terror networks and protect vulnerable populations.
The Nigeria Evangelical Fellowship added that the Federal Government should create conditions that allow displaced persons to return to their ancestral communities in safety, according to the communiqué.
The group further called on the government to strengthen the protection of religious freedom and tolerance, while addressing social, economic, and environmental factors contributing to insecurity, according to the Fellowship.
