About 150 Men Benefit From LEAH Free Prostate Cancer Screening In Kwara

About 150 men today benefited from free cancer screening exercise organized by LEAH Foundation in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The screening held in conjunction with Johnson and Johnson.
This medium reports that the exercise attracted youths, middle aged and citizens, who turned out for their health status and well being to be ascertained.
Speaking on the exercise, Media Director, LEAH Medical Centre, Ilorin, Dr Gregory Oyinloye, described the turn out for the free cancer screening as extremely impressive.
Dr Oyinloye noted that the beneficiaries were screened for Prostate Specific Antigen and Prostate Ultrasound commonly done to rule out prostate cancer.
The Medical Director maintained that LEAH had noticed increase in the number of prostate cancer among men in Kwara State over the years, hence its resolve to make the exercise free.
He recalled that the LEAH Foundation started this prostate campaign in February this year where over 1000 people were examined for prostate cancer.
Oyinloye explained that the aim of the screening was to raise awareness about prostate cancer and encourage early detection and treatment.
In an interview on the sideline of the exercise, one of the beneficiaries, Retired Professor of Literary Linguistics, University of Abuja, Kayode Omole, identified prostate cancer screening for men as a good initiative.
Professor Omole noted that God created man with different parts of the body, which will invariably age and develop some issues.
The Varsity Don identified the screening as smooth and applauded the Founder and Former First Lady of Kwara State, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed, for her commitment in touching lives.
Omole commended Mrs Ahmed for her foresight and advocated sustenance of the screening exercise.
