Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has distanced himself from the Peoples Democratic Party’s decision to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and several other party leaders.
In a statement today by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the Governor clarified that the issue was never discussed by the PDP Governors’ Forum or the National Executive Committee before the motion for expulsion was presented.
Governor Mutfwang stated that the proposal does not reflect his position.
The Governor reiterated that the matter was neither deliberated upon by the Governors’ Forum nor the NEC before being brought to the convention floor.
He emphasized that the expulsion of key party stakeholders at such a critical time was not a strategic solution to the party’s internal challenges.
Governor Mutfwang reechoed the need for unity, dialogue, and collective effort in rebuilding and repositioning the PDP for the future.
