NACCIMA Mourns Passing Of Olusegun Awolowo Jr., Salutes His Service To Nigeria

Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mr Olusegun Awolowo Jr., describing him as an exceptional public servant and technocrat whose work helped shape Nigeria’s economic direction.
In a statement issued today, signed by its National President, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, NACCIMA said his death marks a solemn moment for the country.
Alhaji Ibrahim praised his leadership at the AfCFTA Coordinating Office and the NEPC, as he played a defining role in strengthening Nigeria’s export framework and deepening engagement between the private sector and policy institutions.
NACCIMA added that Awolowo Jr.’s calm yet influential voice shaped key economic conversations and reflected a legacy of disciplined service.
The association extended its condolences to the Awolowo family, his wife, children, grandchildren, and colleagues across institutions where he served.
Awolowo Jr., who until his passing served as Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria AfCFTA Coordinating Office, was also a former Executive Director and CEO of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council.
A legal practitioner and grandson of the late statesman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, he was widely regarded for his professionalism, foresight and commitment to national development.
