Muhammad Yaseer Tajudeen of Ilorin West Local Government Kwara-Central has emerged winner of this year’s 2025 Kwara State National Qur’an Recitation Competition in the second category complete Qur’an memorization.
Muhammad Yaseer Tajudeen scored 364.5 points to defeat his closest challenger Abdulwaris of Offa Local Government, Kwara South who polled 346 points clinched second position while Abdulmajeed Abdul-leef also from Offa Local Government Kwara-South came third with 277.5 points.
Meanwhile, Kwara State is not producing competitors for first category of complete Qur’an, Tajweed and Tafsir, first and second of female categories for this year’s National Qur’an Recitation Competition billed Borno State.
In his lecture, Imam Masjid Maimasa, Ojagboro, Ilorin Professor Yusuf Lanre Badmus counseled the Quran memorizers to extend their Qur’anic knowledge to its interpretation for them garner deep understanding of the scripture.
Professor Badmus represented by Doctor Muhammad Jumma’ah Danzuki of Kwara State University, Malete encouraged the competitors and entire Muslim Ummah to always ensure perpetual recitation to master the Qur’an.
The Guest Lecturer charged Muslims to imbibe the virtues of Qur’an and tasked parents to encourage their wards to learn Qur’an to earn Allah’s mercy on earth and hereafter.
In his address, Chairman of the occasion and Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Engineer Yakubu Danlad-Salihu described the contest plausible.
Represented by House Leader and Lawmaker representing Ilorin Central, Barrister Abduiquadir Oba Magaji commended the Kwara State Qur’an Committee for grooming the competitors in Qur’an memorization.
Engineer Danlad-Salihu frowned over insecurity in the Country particularly Kwara State and expressed the hope that the security challenges would be nipped in the board soonest.
Chairman, Kwara State Committee on National Qur’an Recitation Competition, Alhaji Shehu Abdulgafar said the competitors undergone Local, Senatorial and State competitions before their qualification for the state final.
Alhaji Abdulgafar said winners of the state state final are expected to represent Kwara State in National Qur’an Recitation Competition billed for Borno State this year and commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s support for the Committee.
The state final contest was laced with recitation of Qur’an and decoration of the winner, Muhammad Yaseer Tajudeen as Gwarzo Shekara, Hero of the year for state the state Qur’an memorization competition.
