ACOMIN Engages Nursing Unit Of Health Ministry In Kwara

Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) has paid an advocacy visit  Nursing Unit, Kwara State Ministry of Health on 10th of December 2025 as part of efforts to strengthen service delivery across primary healthcare facilities in the state.
During the visit, the ACOMIN State Coordinator, Mr. Femi Olatunbosun, briefed the Principal Nursing Officer on the activities and achievements of the project since its implementation, highlighting its impact on community-level healthcare service delivery.
In her remarks, the State Programme Officer (SPO), Mrs. Oluwatosin Audu, acknowledged the critical role nurses play in the health system and appreciated their dedication and commitment to service delivery, particularly at the primary healthcare level.
She also outlined some of the challenges encountered in the field during project implementation, especially issues affecting effective service delivery in PHCs.
Responding, the Principal Nursing Officer, Mrs. Oyebanji Olubunmi, expressed gratitude to ACOMIN for the official visit and prayed for the sustainability of the project.
She acknowledged the concerns raised regarding staff attitude and assured the team of her support in addressing the issues.
Mrs. Olubunmi emphasized that primary healthcare facilities thrive on simplicity and collaboration, where staff work together to deliver services.
She assured the team that efforts would be made to sensitize newly employed staff on the importance of cooperation, collaboration, and mutual respect among all cadres, in order to promote a culture of teamwork within PHCs.
