Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, His Royal Majesty Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo the second, has attributed the rapid development being witnessed in Oro town to the collective support, unity and unwavering spirit of the people of the kingdom.
Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo the second stated this while speaking with journalists in his centralized palace during the celebration of Oro Day 2025, which also marked the first anniversary of his reign as the Oloro of Oro.
The Monarch said the encouragement and cooperation of the people had inspired him to pursue projects and initiatives that seemed difficult to achieve, describing the residents as a major source of motivation for his administration.
According to him, the energy, experience and project-driven culture he applied while serving as Baba Asa in the diaspora are now being deployed to accelerate development in Oro Kingdom.
Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo the second commended the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for providing an enabling environment and the opportunity for him to lead the kingdom in line with laid-down plans and development goals for all traditional rulers in the state.
He urged the people of Oro Kingdom to continue to embrace peace, live in harmony and reject all forms of misinformation capable of disrupting the unity of the community.
Clarifying lingering controversies, the Oloro stressed that there is no court case challenging his ascension to the throne, no judgment restraining the community from using the title “Oloro,” and no court ruling prohibiting the celebration of Oro Day.
He further noted that there has never been any court judgment preventing the Kwara State Government from appointing a king in Oro Kingdom.
The Monarch warned those spreading false information to desist, emphasizing that misinformation must be stopped in the interest of peace, progress and sustainable development of Oro Kingdom.
