Prof. Gambari Identifies Easiest Way Of Losing Power, Cautions Ruling Elites Against Taking People For Granted

Immediate past Chief of Staff to Late Former President, Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari has identified easiest way of losing power.
Professor Gambari dropped this hint while delivering a paper on the theme ” Roles and Responsibilities of Academia in Good Governance” at the Annual General Meeting AGM of Ilorin Emirate Professors’ Association IEPA in Ilorin.
He noted that the easiest way to lose power is to retain power while power sharing is appropriate strategy for power retention.
Professor Gambari who is a Former Permanent Representative to United Nations, advocated decentralization of power and cautioned ruling elites against taking people for granted.
The Diplomat opined that sustainable development would continue to be a mirage without good governance and challenged Professors to always speak to power not matter whose ox is gored.
Also Speaking, Chairman of the occasion and Former Vice Chancellor University of Ilorin, Professor Abdulganiyu charged ilorin Emirate Professors to Imbibe the spirit of love and responsible to the plights of the people.
Professor Ambali who is also the Chairman, Governing Council, Kwara State University, Malete, applauded Professors for contributing immensely to development of Community and urged them to sustain the tempo.
In his Welcome Address, President of Ilorin Emirate Professors’ Association (IEPA), Professor Abdul Kabir Hussain Solihu said the gathering served as a vital intellectual forum for reflection, dialogue, and collective responsibility among scholars dedicated to societal progress.
Professor Hussain who is of Kwara State University, Malete explained that Ilorin Emirate Professors hold knowledge in  highest esteem as those entrusted with knowledge bear a sacred responsibility to guide society with wisdom, fairness and truth.
The Annual General Meeting was attended by Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari represented by Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin, Dr Abubakar Akanbi-Jos and first Professor of Ilorin Emirate, Professor Saka Nuru.
The AGM was climaxed with unveiling of Ilorin Emirate Professors Compendium.
