Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, is set to host a landmark intellectual and cultural gathering with the public presentation and launching of the book Kuliya of Ilorin: A Life of Purpose, alongside the unveiling of the Kuliya Ngari of Ilorin Emirate’s National Youth Mentorship Summit.
Central to the significance of the event is the keynote address expected to be delivered by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Hon. Chief Lateef Fagbemi, SAN.
His address, themed “Youth Mentorship and the Renewed Hope Agenda: A Pathway to Sustainable Nation Building,” is expected to provide critical national insight into youth development, leadership grooming, and the role of mentorship in advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Fagbemi’s participation reiterates the federal government’s commitment to nurturing responsible, value-driven youths as a cornerstone of sustainable nation-building.
As Nigeria’s chief law officer, his presence brings intellectual depth and policy relevance to the programme, reinforcing the importance of mentorship, justice, and ethical leadership in shaping the country’s future.
The public presentation is being jointly hosted by two eminent personalities, Alhaji K. K. Eleja, SAN, and Prof. L. F. Oladimeji, Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, who are serving as co-chief hosts of the occasion.
The event is being coordinated by the Nigerian Media Parliament (NMP) Committee on Public Presentation.
Scheduled for Thursday, 15 January 2026, the programme will take place at the Auditorium of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, with proceedings commencing at 10:00 a.m.
Adding profound cultural and moral weight to the occasion is the royal fatherhood of Mai-Martaba, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The Emir’s presence symbolises royal blessing and reflects his enduring role as a custodian of values, unity, and intellectual advancement within the Ilorin Emirate and beyond.
In a statement issued on behalf of the CO – Chief Hosts, the Chairman and Secretary of the NMP Media and Publicity Committee, Mallam Ahmed Ajiboye and Mallam Ahmed Ajikobi respectively, extended a special invitation to scholars, traditional rulers, professionals, youths, media practitioners, and members of the general public to attend what they described as a “historic and thought-provoking gathering”.
The book, Kuliya of Ilorin: A Life of Purpose, chronicles a life devoted to service, leadership, and enduring values, while the National Youth Mentorship Summit to be unveiled at the event is designed to inspire, guide, and empower young Nigerians towards purposeful living and responsible citizenship.
According to NMP, the programme promises to be a convergence of intellect, tradition, and mentorship, reflecting the Ilorin Emirate’s long-standing heritage of scholarship and community development.
