Vice Chancellor, Abdulrasaq Abubakar Toyin University AATU, Professor Abdulrauf Ambali says the citadel of learning will expose students to practical skills to prepare them for self-reliance, innovation, and job creation.
Professor Ambali dropped this hint today at the 1st Matriculation of the University Auditorium, Oke-Ogba Ganmo Kwara State.
He said University believed that education must empower the mind, sharpen skills, and transform society.
The Don explained that the Matriculation Ceremony marks a defining moment in the life of AAT University as a celebration of vision, courage, and commitment to quality education.
Professor Ambali pointed out that the matriculated students are formally admitted into the academic community of a Private, Not-for-Profit University for Global Citizenship.
According to him, the Management of the University, with the approval and guidance of the National Universities Commission (NUC), is proposing to commence several undergraduate degree programmes with effect from the 2026/2027 academic session.
He stated that The programmes reflect the institution resolve to align teaching and research with national priorities and global trends.
Professor Ambali posited that the University academic brief accommodates other programmes across different phases such as Nursing Science (Phase I), Public Health (Phase II), Medical Laboratory Science (Phase I), Medicine and Surgery (Phase II), Political Science (Phase II), Public Administration (Phase I), Mass Communication (Phase II), English (Phase I), Peace and Conflict Resolution (Phase I), Law (Phase II), Microbiology (Phase I), Anatomy (Phase II), and Physiology (Phase II).
He maintained that the National Universities Commission has commended the University for its state-of-the-art infrastructure and the quality of its academic staff.
It was gathered that AATU was allocated a JAMB quota of 700 candidates,994 candidates secured admission so far while 684 accepted.
Highpoint of the event was administration of Matriculation Oath on the students by the Registrar of the University, Mr Emmanuel Obafemi Dada.
