Veteran Journalist, Chief (Mrs) Moji Makanjuola, has mourned the passing of the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Shaykh Muhammad Bashir Imam Solihu, describing his exit as painful.
She said the legacy of the late Islamic scholar of the Ilorin Emirate would endure, taking cognizance of his impactful contributions to spiritual growth and Islamic scholarship.
In a statement she personally signed and made available to Journalists in Ilorin, Chief Moji Makanjuola explained that Ilorin and its environs had lost one of its iconic figures, particularly at a time that his ocean of experience and spiritual guidance were needed to navigate disturbing situations in our public life.
The Veteran Journalist recalled that the preachings of the late Chief Imam resonated with many citizens on how to maintain peaceful co-existence across communities.
She said the deceased would be sorely missed in all ramifications.
Chief Moji Makanjuola commiserated with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari; the Council of Islamic scholars and the Ilorin Emirate on the tragic loss of the Muslim leader.
She prayed to the Almighty Allah to forgive the late Chief Imam of his shortcomings and admit him into paradise and comfort his family and the entire Muslim community in this moment of grief.
