Ilorin Emirate Students Union Under the leadership of has announced plans to host its maiden Ramadan Lecture in honour of the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate.
The Ramadan Lecture, themed “Leadership as Amana (Trust)”, will be delivered by renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Abdullah Solaty, popularly known as Albarizi.
The event is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 4th March 2026, at Silvergate Hotel, Ilorin.
In a statement issued by the National President of the Union, Sheikh Zulukarnain Abdulrahman Olaniyi (AL OPOLOWY), the Union explained that the lecture is aimed at underscoring the importance of strong, ethical, and responsible leadership, particularly at a critical time in the nation’s journey.
According to him, there is no better time to bring leadership discourse to the front burner, as the country steadily moves toward another election cycle, making the concept of leadership as Amana both timely and necessary.
He further stated that the lecture is being organised in honour of Senator Saliu Mustapha in appreciation of his selfless service to the community and his unrelenting support for the Ilorin Emirate students over the years.
The National President described Senator Mustapha as a strong pillar of Support to the Union.He maintained that the distinguished Senator has consistently stood by the students’ community within the Emirate and remains unrelenting in his support.
The Student Union is proud to have him as his patron and mentor.
He pointed out that This lecture is one of the many ways the students are expressing their gratitude to Senator Mustapha.
