Kano branch of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants’ Progressive Union (IEDPU) will on Saturday, April 25, 2026, lay the foundation for its new multimillion-naira secretariat complex.
In a joint statement on Monday, the union’s Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Foundation Laying Committee, Mallam AbdulQuadri Ahmed Firdaus, and Public Relations Officer, Sheikh Abdulrazaq Shehu Aladire, described the project as a “monumental leap and defining moment” in the branch’s pursuit of excellence.
The statement said this Foundation Laying Ceremony for the New Secretariat Complex Project marks a significant milestone in enhancing and providing the necessary infrastructure to boost our activities and better support our members and stakeholders
The ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the union’s construction site at No. 53, King’s College Street, Kurna Asabe, Dantata Estate, Kano.
The IEDPU Kano Complex will comprise a mosque, an Islamic school, a secretariat, and a guest house. The union said the facility represents a strategic investment in the future of the Association and its members.
Alhaji Dr. Surajudeen Adewuyi Usman Mohammad (Asamu 1) will perform the foundation stone laying as Special Guest of Honour.
Other expected guests include Engineer Suleiman Kale Kawu (Dan Iya Ilorin Emirate); Alhaji Abdulrazaq Abubakar Toyin, Founder, AATU University; Alhaji Ibrahim Tajudeen Adeta, CEO, Apex Garden Abuja; and Alhaji Kazeem Omotayo Akande, Agba Akin Yoruba Kano.
It noted that this foundation stone laying ceremony is more than just building a physical structure; it embodies the dedication, commitment, and ambitious spirit of our members.
The union invited stakeholders, members of other associations, and the media to attend the event.
IEDPU Kano Branch describes itself as a socio-cultural, non-governmental association dedicated to the unity, development, cultural preservation, and welfare of Ilorin Emirate indigenes.
