Frontline Aspirant, Hon. Yakub Babatunde Ajadi Prudent formally presented his letter of intent to contest the Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday at the party’s secretariat in Sabo-Oke, Ilorin.
The declaration drew a large turnout of party executives, ward chairmen, stakeholders, and supporters who hailed it as a bold step toward quality representation in the Green Chamber ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Prudent said his ambition is driven by passion for public service and love for his constituents, not desperation for power.
He cited his track record of successfully executing national assignments with visible impact as proof of his capacity to deliver.
Party leaders responded with strong commendations. Ibagun Ward Chairman Hon. AbdulRauf Adanla urged members to back Prudent, assuring them he “will not disappoint” if given the mandate.
APC Ilorin East Local Government Chairman,Comrade Habeebullahi Ajibola Lawal described Prudent as a vibrant young man and worthy ambassador with long-standing contributions to the party’s growth. He offered prayers for the aspirant’s success.
Balogun Gambari II Ward Chairman and Chairman of Chairmen, Alhaji Abdullahi Baba-Gobir Kosejigbe, praised Prudent’s commitment to party supremacy and his consistent impact on members. Party Vice Chairman Yahaya Sulukainan Kokewu lauded his humility and respectful character, while the Secretary highlighted his philanthropic gestures and dedication to youth development.
Hon. Prudent pledged an issue-based, people-oriented campaign focused on inclusion, accountability, empowerment, and sustainable development. He solicited the prayers, support, and cooperation of party leaders ahead of the primaries.
The submission of his letter of intent formally kicks off what supporters describe as a purposeful and peaceful race to 2027.
