Immediate-past Commissioner for Works in Kwara State, Engr Abdulquawiy Olododo today formally declared his intention to run for the House of Representatives seat for Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
This is just as he promised to build a functioning local economy for the constituency if given the opportunity to serve his people.
Olododo, an indigene of Ibagun Ward, Ilorin East Local Government Area, is vying for the green chamber’s seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
At the official declaration of intent, which had in attendance top politicians including Alhaji Usman Bibire Ajape, Alhaji Toyin Olokoba and others, the House of Representatives aspirant said his promise to build local economy was only not about jobs but to create pathways to improved income.
The young politician pledged that he would make his constituency’s representation transparent and accountable in a way never seen before.
Olododo also assured that he would connect the people of his constituency with entrepreneurial skills to receive federal intervention funds through Bank of Industry (BOI), NIRSAL and as well as Small and Medium Enterprises facilities from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
He said through his representation in the lower arm of the the National Assembly, young people would be trained in technical trades, digital skills and in the remote-work economy that is now a real market for anyone with preparation and internet access.
In his remarks, a member of the Kwara State Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Alawo, said the aspirant has demonstrated qualities of a good ambassador of the youth constituency during his stint in the state executive council as Commissioner for Works.
He urged the people of the constituency to rally round him, assuring that he would not disappoint them.
Also speaking, a chieftain of the APC,
Alhaji Bibire Ajape, described Olododo as a young and dynamic politician, who can be trusted with public office based on his antecedents.
A representative of students’ union, Adebayo Abdulkadir Alasa, expressed gratitude to Olododo for always offering assistance to the union, declaring that “he is a leader with leadership qualities, with qualities cutting across culture, religion and social.
