Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki on his appointment as Chief Imam Fulani of Ilorin Emirate.
In a statement by Deputy Chief Press Secretary Mashood Abdulrafiu Agboola, Governor AbdulRazaq commended the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, for selecting the 42-year-old scholar for the position.
According to him, the choice of a young and vibrant Azhari scholar as the new Chief Imam Fulani reflects the commitment of the community, which His Royal Highness symbolises, to continue to mobilise different demographies of the Muslim ummah for greater good and development.
The Governor prayed for the new chief imam’s guidance, health, and long life in the service of the ummah
Governor Abdulrazaq urged residents to support him in the overall interest of the community.
Similarly, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC Governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, congratulates the newly appointed Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Shaykh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani.
The new Chief Imam is a grandson of the 8th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Ibrahim Dasuki Imam Fulani Agaka, and a son of the 10th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Maliki bn Dasuki Agaka.
He becomes the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, following the death of Shaykh Muhammad Bashir Imam Salihu, the 12th Chief Imam.
Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu, in a statement, by his Chief Press Secretary, Shehu Abdulkadir Yusuf congratulated Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR and the Ilorin Emirate community on the successful appointment of a new Chief Imam.
On behalf of the Kwara State House of Assembly, the Speaker wished the new Chief Imam a long and spiritually rewarding tenure as he steps into the role of his forebears to lead the Emirate Muslim community.
