Komolafe, remembered as an iconic voice in the Nigerian broadcast industry and the pioneer anchor of the renowned radio programme, “Moment of Truth,” marking his 15th Year Remembrance. Thursday, September 10, 2026.

The commemoration, themed “September to Remember,” provides an opportunity to reflect on the life, professionalism and enduring impact of a broadcaster whose distinctive voice once captivated audiences across the airwaves.

As a pioneer anchor of Moment of Truth, Komolafe became associated with a broadcasting style that combined professionalism, confidence and a strong connection with his audience. His work at the Kwara State Broadcasting Corporation (Radio Kwara) contributed to the rich history of radio broadcasting in the state.

Fifteen years after he left the airwaves, memories of his contribution remain strong among those who listened to him and those who encountered his work within the broadcasting profession.

The remembrance message captures the enduring nature of his legacy:

“Some voices never truly fade away. They may leave the airwaves, but their words, their passion and their impact continue to resonate in the hearts of those who heard them.

The 15th Year Remembrance celebrates Komolafe not merely as a broadcaster who once held the microphone, but as a professional whose voice became part of the memories of an era in Nigerian radio broadcasting.

For many, the significance of the commemoration lies in the fact that broadcasting is ultimately about connection — and Komolafe’s distinctive voice created that connection with countless listeners.

His association with Moment of Truth remains an important part of his broadcasting legacy, while his dedication to the profession continues to serve as a reminder of the influence a committed broadcaster can have beyond the studio.

The September to Remember commemoration is therefore expected to serve as a moment of reflection, appreciation and remembrance for family, colleagues, friends, former listeners and members of the broadcast community.

As the radio industry continues to evolve from traditional studios to digital platforms and new forms of broadcasting, the memory of broadcasters who helped shape the industry remains an important part of its history.

And for Deji Komolafe, fifteen years may have passed since 2011, but his voice remains in the memories of those who heard him.

His microphone may have gone silent, but his legacy continues to speak.
