Executive Chairman, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hajji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf has called for creation of 4 Local Governments from the existing Council.
Hajji Femi Yusuf made call while participating on Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Media Parliament in Ilorin.
He described Ifelodun Local Government as the largest in the state, Nigeria and Africa with attendant numerous challenges incomparable to other Local Governments in the state.
According to him, only, Ifelodun Local Government in Kwara State has highest number of graded traditional rulers (61), wards (18) and land mass.
The Chairman lamented the monthly allocation is too meagre to administer the daunting challenges bedeviling the Local Government owing to its magnificent nature and maintained that he would support any process capable of midwifing creation of additional Local Government in the area.
He said since the creation of the Local Government in 1976, little or no effort was made to create more Local Governments from the existing one.
Hajji Femi Yusuf cited Irepodun Local Government created alongside Ifelodun had witnessed creation of additional Local Governments and vowed to intensify efforts towards actualizing creation of additional Local Governments in the area.
