The Community Engagement Strategic Initiative (CESI) Team, representing the Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) at the grassroots level, today, November 6, 2026, visited Mrs. Mercy Michael, a representative of the Market Women Leader, to discuss healthcare access and promote awareness of essential health services within the community.
The engagement, conducted under the implementation of the Royal Heritage Health Foundation (RHHF), the implementing Community-Based Organisation (CBO), focused on the importance of regular health check-ups to ascertain one’s status regarding HIV, malaria and tuberculosis (TB).
The team emphasised the importance of early testing, prompt diagnosis and timely access to healthcare services. Mrs. Michael was also informed that drugs for the treatment of these conditions are available free of charge at the health facility.
The team encouraged her to take advantage of the available services and help disseminate the information among market women and other members of the community, recognising the important role community leaders and representatives play in promoting health awareness.
