Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has congratulated former Chief of Staff to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, on his 81st birthday.
In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir described Prof. Gambari—also a former Minister of External Affairs and United Nations Special Envoy—as an exemplary public administrator known for integrity, hard work and commitment to national unity.
The Emir said Gambari represents a strong national ethos, emphasising values that transcend ethnic, religious, and regional differences in the pursuit of peace, stability, and development at both national and global levels.
He noted that Gambari’s career trajectory—from academia to international diplomacy—demonstrates depth, competence and statesmanship.
The monarch added that Gambari has made significant contributions to Nigeria and the global community through his efforts to promote democratic advancement, national consciousness and measures against divisive tendencies.
Dr Sulu-Gambari also highlighted Gambari’s record of service as a benchmark for patriotism, loyalty and administrative brilliance, stressing that the former Chief of Staff consistently applied humility, integrity and expertise to every responsibility assigned to him.
He further commended Gambari’s continued support for the development of Ilorin Emirate and the state of Kwarate.
The Emir prayed for Allah to grant the elder statesman long life, sound health and continued fulfilment in the service of Nigeria and humanity.
