Hundreds of aged, widows and other underprivileged Muslims today benefited from Ramadan Food Package distribution donated Ilorin Anchor Men and Women Initiative.
The distribution of the food package took place today at Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union IEDPU National Secretariat Gerin Alimi Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital.
Distributing the food package to the beneficiaries on behalf of National President of the Initiative, Alhaji Ahmed Sulaiman, General Secretary, Alhaja Rodiat Omotayo Yahaya noted that the benevolence is geared towards the spiritual season.
Alhaja Yahaya said Ramadan is a time to take care of the needy necessitated the need for Ilorin Anchor to explore the opportunity as an outreach to the downtrodden.
She cautioned the beneficiaries against indiscriminate selling of the food package as it is meant for them to consume.
Also Speaking, Former President of Ilorin Anchor, Alhaji Olufadi described the distribution as successful having tried its tried and promised that next year would be better.
Alhaji Olufadi explained that the Ilorin Anchor is alleviating the sufferings the less privileged during Ramadan and assured that the body also has empowerment packages for the needy after holy month.
In submission, Treasurer of the Initiative, Dr Khadijat Aiyelabegan elucidated that Ilorin Anchor is catered for less privileged across 5 Local Government Areas of Ilorin Emirate.
Responding on behalf of beneficiaries, Ramat Abdulqodir expressed profound gratitude to Ilorin Anchor Men and Women Initiative for the gesture.
Ilorin Anchor Men and Women Initiative Annual Ramadan Food Distribution Programme featured symbolic distribution of 200 bags of 10kg of rice to the needy.
