ACOMIN Engages State Supply Chain Office On Malaria Commodity Distribution

Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) State Team paid an advocacy visit to the State Procurement and Supply Chain Management Officer, Mr. Garba Abraham Adeola, to discuss the distribution and availability of malaria commodities across health facilities in Kwara State.

During the meeting, ACOMIN team highlighted the importance of efficient commodity distribution in sustaining quality healthcare delivery.

The SPO explained that feedback from CBOs and Community Led Monitoring Team (CLMT) has continued to emphasize the importance of consistent malaria commodity supply in health facilities to ensure uninterrupted service delivery and improved client confidence.

Responding, the State Procurement and Supply Chain Management Officer, Mr. Garba Abraham Adeola, appreciated ACOMIN for the visit and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to effective malaria commodity distribution.

He disclosed that the last distribution of Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT) commodities was carried out between April 6 and April 17, 2026, assuring the team that health facilities across the state had been supplied.

Mr. Garba further stated that the supply chain management unit remains committed to ensuring that malaria commodities are available at facilities and that continuous efforts are being made to strengthen the distribution system and prevent stock-outs.

In his remarks, the ACOMIN Coordinator, Mr. Femi Olatunbosun, applauded the State Supply Chain Management Office for its efforts in ensuring that malaria commodities reach health facilities.

He noted that consistent commodity availability is essential to support community-level demand creation efforts and strengthen public trust in primary healthcare services.
