Kwara NUJ Mourns Herald’s Ex-News Editor, Adetula

 Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed sorrow over the death of a veteran journalist and former News Editor of The Herald Newspaper, Chief Ademola Adetula, describing his passing as a painful loss to the journalism profession and the nation.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the council, Abdullateef Lanre Ahmed, and the Secretary, Mahmood Olayinka Alaya, the union said it received the news of the demise of the Sasere of Owo Land, Ondo State, with profound sadness.

The council noted that the late Adetula was an accomplished journalist whose remarkable contributions to the media industry left an enduring legacy.

It recalled his distinguished career at The Herald Newspaper and his subsequent service as the Managing Director of Owena Press Limited, publishers of The Hope Newspapers, where he played a significant role in advancing ethical journalism and media development.

According to the statement, Adetula’s commitment to professionalism, mentorship, and excellence earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues across the country.

The Kwara NUJ said the deceased would be sorely missed in the journalism profession, particularly for his wealth of experience, dedication to truth, and invaluable contributions to the growth of the media industry.

The council commiserated with the government and people of Ondo State, the Owo Kingdom, the management and staff of Owena Press Limited, his family, friends, and the entire Nigerian journalism community over the irreparable loss.

It prayed that the Almighty God grants the late Adetula eternal rest and give his family, associates, and loved ones the strength to endure the loss.
