About two thousand,three hundred and thirty four Bandits have been dislodged in some parts of Ifelodun Local government Area in the state..
The Chairman Ifelodun Local government, Hadji Abdulrasheed Oluwafemi Yusuf gave the number today while speaking at the forty-nineth edition of the Media Parliament organised by the Kwara State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists held at the NUJ press Center, Offa Road, Ilorin.
According to him, the council has been able to dislodge bandits around Babanla-Baba Sango-Oreke axis among others.
This he said was made possible with combined efforts of all the security agencies, including the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police, vigilantes groups, forest guard and local hunters among others.
He said bushes around the roads have also been cleared to ensure adequate security of the areas.
Hadji Yusuf further expressed readiness to train more locals to ensure adequate security of the area.
According to him, the council has been able to engage community leaders in series of meetings towards providing lasting solutions to the insecurity in Ifelodun local government and it is yielding positive results.
He also called for support from traditional rulers and other stakeholders to ensure the security of lives and property of the people.
