Rotary Club of Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood has ushered in a new chapter of service and leadership with the official investiture of Rotarian Bello A. Oyindamola as the club’s 12th President.

The colourful investiture ceremony, held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at JJ & Jayz Events Centre, Taoheed Off Basin Road, Ilorin, brought together Rotary leaders, public officials, professionals, business leaders, friends and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the new president and the ideals of service that define Rotary.

The occasion was marked by an atmosphere of fellowship, recognition and renewed commitment to community service, as Rotarians and guests reflected on the importance of leadership that translates into tangible benefits for society.

Among the dignitaries in attendance was the Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Council, alongside the Kwara State APC House of Representatives candidate and former Commissioner for Works in the state, Abdulqawiyy Olododo.

Also present was veteran town planner, retired Permanent Secretary in the Kwara State Civil Service and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Alhaji Amuda Alabi. Past presidents of various Rotary clubs, captains of industry and other distinguished guests also graced the occasion.

The highlight of the ceremony was the formal investiture of Rotarian Bello A. Oyindamola as the 12th President of Rotary Club of Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood.

Her emergence places her at the helm of the club’s affairs at a time when service organisations are increasingly challenged to demonstrate measurable and sustainable impact in their communities.

Delivering the keynote address, the guest speaker, Fellow of the Guild of Digital Journalists, Oyez Olatunde Rex, spoke on the theme, “Creating Lasting Impact.” He challenged leaders and occupants of positions of authority to look beyond the privileges attached to office and focus on what they can positively change during their tenure.

Olatunde Rex emphasised that leadership should not be measured merely by titles, ceremonies or the length of time spent in office, but by the improvements leaders leave behind. He urged those entrusted with authority to pursue initiatives that make institutions, organisations and systems function better,

He noted that the most enduring legacy of leadership is an impact capable of outliving the individual who created it.

He encouraged the new Rotary president and other leaders in attendance to embrace service-driven leadership as genuine leadership should produce value for people and strengthen the structures entrusted to its custodianship.

The investiture also featured the presentation of awards and recognitions to individuals whose contributions to social service and the advancement of society were deemed worthy of commendation.

The recognitions underscored the central place of service, volunteerism and community development in Rotary’s philosophy.

Beyond the ceremonial aspects, the event provided an opportunity for members of the club and guests to renew their commitment to the ideals of fellowship, service and community impact.

The presence of past presidents and other accomplished professionals also offered a bridge between the club’s history and its emerging leadership direction.

With Rotarian Bello A. Oyindamola now formally entrusted with the leadership of Rotary Club Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood, expectations are high that her tenure will deepen the club’s service initiatives and strengthen its contribution to the wellbeing of communities within and beyond Ilorin.

The investiture ultimately served as more than a change of leadership.

It was a celebration of service, an affirmation of the responsibility that accompanies authority and a reminder that the true measure of leadership lies in the positive difference left behind.
