Kwara Monthly Environmental Sanitation Holds On Saturday As Human, Vehicular Movements Restricted

Usual environmental sanitation exercise for this Month of January holds on Saturday
The sanitation would hold between seven o’clock and ten o’clock (7:00 am to 10:00 am) in the Morning.
A statement by the Press Secretary, State Ministry of Environment, Shakirat Muritala, said trucks would be made available for waste collection and subsequent disposal at government approved dump site
The statement enjoined residents to fully participate in the exercise by cleaning both their residential and business environments.
The government warned members of the public that there will be no vehicular and human movements across the state during the exercise.
The statement maintained that it is an offence punishable under the environmental law to dump refuse on pedestrian walkways, road side, drainages, canals and other unapproved dump sites.
The Ministry of Environment said any attempt to obstruct or deny government officials from carrying out their statutory obligations would be dealt with within the ambit of the law
