Commissioner for Communication in Kwara State, Mrs Bolanle Olukoju, has charged members of the newly created Public Relations Unit of the Ministry to leverage responsible media practice to excel.
Mrs Olukoju gave the charge while unveiling the new Head of the Unit, Muhammad Baba, his Deputy Ajileye Adebayo, and six others in her office.
She encouraged them to explore citizen engagement through their feedbacks.
The Commissioner assured the PR Unit of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s commitment for a smooth take-off.
She also pledged her readiness to upscale skills of the unit with regular capacity building toward ensuring accurate discharge of their mandate.
In his remarks, Director information services of the Ministry, Alhaji Jimoh Salawu commended the Commissioner initiative and described the challenges of negative perception and misinformation in some quarters as uncalled for.
Responding, Head of the Unit, Muhammad Baba expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve as a bridge between the government and citizens.
He promised the unit would discharge on its mandate passionately.
