Alhaji Aliyu Abdurasheed has been sworn in as the new President of Bayero University Kano Alumni Association, Ilorin Emirate Chapter.
The event which took place on Sunday at the IEDPU National Headquarters, Geri Alimi, Ilorin.
He succeeded Alhaji AbdulGaniy Ayoku whose tenure had recorded remarkable progress in the history of the Alumni Association.
The event witnessed the presence of new executive members and other members of the Alumni Association.
Mr Olalekan Abdulkadir, who spoke on behalf of the outgoing President, Alhaji AbdulGaniy Ayoku, thanked the entire house for their support including the elders, and urged support for the new executive members.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Abdulrasheed assured the house that he would put in his best and thanked the outgoing members for their hard work, perseverance and tenacity.
He urged everyone to support him in his new task.
The new President said Ilorin is known for peace and prayed to Allah to continue grant Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari good health.
He also prayed for those who are doing well for Allah to sustain their ways and open His door of favour for those who are still struggling among the Alumni Association.
There were good will messages from members of the association.
