National Youth Games Asaba 2025: Team Kwara Update
KARATE
Awe David settled for silver in Karate, Kumite male event (-50Kg) category following a narrow defeat to Desmond Izengbuwa from Edo State.
He sets the record to be the first medal for Kwara State in the ongoing NYG Asaba 2025.
TABLE TENNIS
Table Tennis commenced yesterday as Team Kwara competed in Able boys singles event.
WEIGHTLIFTING
Abdulraheem Bankole in 60kg category was later screened out after a rescreeing exercise today, which denied him participation at this year’s National Youth Game.
Oladipo Taiye in 50kg participated his first weight category in *Snatch events* and made the 5th position also placed 4th in Clean and Jack events.
In the female category, Success Mathew in 44kg faced disqualification by the screening committee.
FIVES
Fives event is slated to commence today morning at Government House Asaba Squash Court with Team Kwara ready to compete against their counterparts.
Events such as Ayo, Boxing, Cricket and Cycling will also start last Saturday as Team Kwara battle ready to compete in the events listed respectively.
