In a statement, INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan emphasized that full preparations have been completed for their mobilisation and logistical needs.
According to him, these arrangements have been made to ensure the welfare of corps members serving as ad-hoc staff.
He also noted that security measures have been activated across the state, with law enforcement agencies coordinating to create a safe environment for both voters and electoral personnel.
Prof Amupitan urged electoral officials to maintain impartiality, reminding them to provide equal opportunities for all candidates.
He cautioned political actors against employing violent tactics and encouraged voters to actively participate while rejecting any attempts at vote-buying.
Stating the commission’s commitment to a peaceful and credible election, Prof Amupitan confirmed that details on Permanent Voter Card collection figures will be released before the election.
He reassured that more than enough BVAS machines, including backups, have been deployed to the 5,718 polling units.
