President Bola Tinubu today congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election, describing the outcome as an affirmation of visionary leadership and promising closer collaboration between the Federal Government and Anambra State.
This is contained in a congratulatory message personally signed by him made available to the media.
President Tinubu commended the people of Anambra, security agencies, and INEC for ensuring a peaceful and credible election.
He also praised the new INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, and urged the commission to maintain and improve its performance to further strengthen Nigeria’s electoral system.
The President lauded Soludo for bringing discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra, noting that the state is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.
He assured the governor of his administration’s continued support and encouraged him to be magnanimous in victory by seeking cooperation from his opponents.
President Tinubu recalled his visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration.
He described the initiatives as evidence of good governance, accountability, transparency, and prudent management of public resources.
Reports from Channels Television and other media outlets indicated that Soludo won by a landslide, with some tallies showing more than 420,000 votes against his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress.
Analysts had earlier viewed the contest as a test of APGA’s entrenched influence in the South-East.
With INEC’s declaration, APGA has further tightened its grip on the state, while Soludo’s administration—due to run until March 2026—enters a new phase of momentum and consolidation.
