National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Engr Jani Ibrahim, FNSE, FAEng, FCIoD, OON, mni, has on Monday made a historic entry into the Board of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD).
This marks the first time ever Nigeria will be represented at the high-level platform.
NACCIMA was elected to the ICCD Board of Directors during the 41st General Assembly Meeting in Makkah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The milestone reflects NACCIMA President Engr Jani Ibrahim’s persistent efforts to deepen Nigeria’s private sector collaborations and engagements across major countries of the world in order to foster economic growth, boost trade expansion and support the realisation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s $1 trillion dollar economy by 2030 target.
Upon assumption of office, the NACCIMA President has led various trade missions, comprising delegations of the Nigerian business community, to China, Turkiye and now Saudi Arabia to strengthen economic ties and tap into the vast economic opportunities available within these countries.
Back home in Nigeria, he has paid visits to different embassies, consulates, and key government agencies to make a bold case for Nigeria’s private sector readiness and potentials.
Speaking at the General Assembly Meeting, Engr. Ibrahim expressed profound gratitude to the ICCD Secretariat for nominating Nigeria to serve on the crucial board. Describing it as a vote of confidence, NACCIMA President said the nomination is a responsibility to advance inclusive global commerce.
Engr. Ibrahim called for the empowerment of women and youth entrepreneurs, noting they are the true drivers of innovation, job creation and long-term prosperity on the African continent.
He thanked the ICCD for the opportunity to participate in the Makkah Halal Forum 2026, affirming that “Nigeria stands ready to play its part as a bridge, partner and champion for inclusive business development.”
NACCIMA President, meanwhile, used the opportunity to seek ICCD’s support for Nigeria to host an inaugural African Halal Forum, which he said will offer better visibility for the growing Halal economy considering the enormous opportunities within the continent.
The ICCD is a global non-governmental organisation established to promote investment opportunities and joint ventures among its member countries.
As a member of ICCD, NACCIMA will have access to a network of businesses and organisations from 57 member countries, boosting export chances and widening business cooperation for the Nigerian private sector.
Engr. Jani Ibrahim continues to bring relevance to NACCIMA with his hands-on and innovative approach to leadership, expanding business cooperation beyond the shores of Nigeria.
