Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kwara State, Professor Ali Ahmad has advocated promulgation of stringent laws to enable politicians lose their seats after defection to another party.
Professor Ahmad who is the immediate past Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, gave this indication while featuring on Guild of Digital Journalists GDJ Months Interface in Ilorin.
He maintained that the act of parliament would prevent politicians from crossing from one party to another and restore sanity in the polity.
The Erstwhile Lawmaker that represented Ilorin East-South Federal Constituency, expressed concern on the perennial decamping of political office holders in the contemporary society.
The Professor of Law vehemently refuted the rumour of his romance with the ruling party and planned defection from Peoples Democratic Party PDP to All Progressives Congress APC.
The PDP stalwart stressed that he has nothing to do with the ruling party and identified such rumour as baseless, frivolous and unfounded.
Professor Ahmad who was a Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Kwara State categorically rule out his defection to the ruling APC and described the insinuation as figment of the imagination of the peddlers.
He said PDP in Kwara State is playing its critical role of formidable opposition geared towards wrestling power from APC as credible alternative to provide good governance to the people of the state.
