Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the payment of N70,000 minimum wage for civil servants in the state with effect from this month, August

Governor Fintiri announced this today via a post on his verified X account.

According to him, the payment of the new minimum wage, set to commence in August, is a reaffirmation of his administration’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants in the state.

He wrote, “As a demonstration of our commitment to the welfare of workers in Adamawa State, I have approved the payment of a ₦70,000 minimum wage starting this August. Our civil servants deserve this and more. Together, we will continue to build a prosperous future for all.”

This announcement follows Governor Fintiri’s earlier pledge during the 2024 May Day celebration to implement the Federal Government’s decision on the new minimum wage.

It would be recalled that President Bola Tinubu signed a bill on the new national minimum wage into law after being passed by the National Assembly in July.
