Gov Abdulrazaq Congratulates Prof. Jimba on Sheikh Hamad Prize

Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has joined the Arabic Scholarly Community and the people of the state to congratulate Professor Moshood Mahmud Jimba for winning the Sheikh Hamad Prize for International Understanding in Doha, Qatar.

This is contained in a Congratulatory Message endorsed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.

Jimba, who is a deputy vice chancellor of the Kwara State University and chairman of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board, is a Professor of Arabic Literature whose works are widely praised globally.

He won the latest award on Tuesday night for his outstanding translation of the famed D.O. Fagunwa’s Ogbojude Ode Ninu Igbo Irunmole (the Brave Hunter in the Forest of 400 Deities), and Waka Ilorin from Yoruba to Arabic.

Governor Abdulrazaq rejoiced the scholar for his contributions to knowledge and his impressive social capital in the community of Arabic and Islamic scholarship in Ilorin, Nigeria, and beyond.

The Governor asked Allaah to bless the new feat of Professor Jimba and uphold him upon goodness.
