No Armed Robbery Occurred Along Omu Aran-Oke Onigbin Axis, Kwara Police Clarifies

Kwara State Police Command has clarified that no Armed Robbery occurred along Omu Aran-Oke Onigbin axis of the State
A Statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi said at about six O’clock in the evening of February 09, 2025, the DPO Oke-Onigbin,  a distress call was received from Ibrahim Sai ‘M’ of Eleyin village, reporting an alleged Armed Robbery.
The statement noted that immediately, a formidable team comprising men from Acpol Omu-aran and Oke-Onigbin division was deployed and discovered that an incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between a vehicle owner and some youths demanding for “owo ilè” (land money) after the vehicle broke down by the road side.
It stated that on arrival, the unarmed youths fled the scene as the fracas was mistaken for an armed-robbery by other road users and bystanders.
The Police therefore urged the populace in case of emergencies, to call the Kwara Police Command hotline 0812 527 5046 and 0703 206 9501.
The Kwara Police Command charged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and assured its continued commitment in securing lives and properties of kwarans.
