Kwara State Sports Commission has reiterated its commitment towards entrenching sports development in the State.
Executive Chairman of the Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji gave this indication while speaking at the Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing in Ilorin.
Coach Mogaji explained that the state is blessed with facilities capable of hosting 38 sporting activities.
He noted that few days ago the state successfully hosted Squash Competition sponsored by Niyi Oyewunmi from Oyo State where Kwara won 3 gold medals out four.
The Executive Chairman stated that the sponsor of the National Squash Competition was endeared by newly constructed glass-back 8 Squash Courts by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
Coach Mogaji pointed out that Kwara is the only state with a gigantic hall for Table Tennis compared with other state with a multipurpose hall for different sports.
The Executive Chairman maintained that Kwara United football club is witnessing unprecedented growth owing to its performance at the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League.
He lauded Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for investing in sports development and identified him as a sport- loving Governor.
Coach Mogaji confirmed that arrangements are in top gear for team Kwara to participate in the forthcoming National Sports Festival billed for Ogun State next month.
