Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Irepodùn Local Government Area of Kwara State, His Royal Majesty,Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II, has stressed the need to solidify the shared bond between the Ilorin Emirate and Oro Kingdom in promoting the rich culture and heritage of the two communities.
Oba Titiloye made the call on Wednesday when he paid a courtesy visit alongside members of the Oloro in council to the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness, Alh (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari in his palace
The visit, which marked Oba Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye’s the second, first official engagement with the Emir since ascending the ancestral throne, was both symbolic and strategic.
The monarch used the occasion to express profound gratitude for the Emir’s unwavering support during his emergence and to advocate for a deepened relationship between the Ilorin Emirate and the Oro Kingdom.
According to him, his visit is not only to honour the revered Emir of Ilorin on the occasion of his 85th birthday, but also to appreciate his invaluable contributions to my journey to the throne and to our people over the years.
The Oloro of Oro emphasized the shared cultural heritage between the two traditional institutions, calling for continued collaboration to preserve and promote their unique identities and values.
He also commended the Emir’s influence in facilitating his unanimous endorsement by the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, a decision later ratified by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
In response, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari welcomed the Oloro of Oro and his delegation to his palace, lauding his humility, leadership qualities, and commitment to peace and development.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari said he is truly pleased to see a young and dynamic monarch like him ascend to such a revered position.
The Emir reaffirmed the Emirate’s readiness to strengthen its ties with the Oro Kingdom, praising the community’s long-standing reputation as peace-loving and progressive.
He also offered heartfelt prayers for the success of the Oloro’s reign and for continued peace and prosperity across Kwara State.
