Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Adisa Mogaji, has congratulated the Kwara United family on their historic qualification for the Federation Cup final.
Coach Mogaji praised the team’s efforts in defeating Rangers International of Enugu at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
While celebrating the milestone, Mogaji emphasized that the team’s journey is not yet complete.
He stressed that the ultimate goal is to win the Cup for the first time in Kwara State’s history.
The Sport Administrator commended the players for their determination and assured them of all necessary support from the state government to achieve this feat.
Coach Mogaji also lauded Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq for his unprecedented investment in sports, noting that he is the first governor in Kwara State’s history to prioritize sports development.
Recalling the 1976 Federation Cup final, where Rangers International defeated Kwara’s team, the Executive Chairman said today’s victory was a payback moment.
The Sports Commission Helmsman appealed to well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies to complement the government’s efforts in investing in sports for sustained success.
He assured that the state government would continue to motivate the team to deliver a winning performance in the final.
Coach Mogaji expressed optimism that Kwara State residents would rally behind the team, regardless of the final venue to cheer them to victory.
