Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has announced that Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) is expected to commence in Kwara State this month.
Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Doctor Hale Gabriel Longpet while addressing a Press Conference in Ilorin said the registration will be in two phases.
According to him Online Registration will begin on August 18, 2025, while Physical Registration will kick off on August, 25, 2025 across all the 16 Local Government offices of INEC and The State Head Office.
He said Continuous Voter Registration Exercise shall be all year round for a period as may be determine by the Commission beginning at 9:00am and to 3:00pm Monday to Friday while any person on queue as at 3:00pm during this period shall be accepted for registration.
The REC said the potential registrants must be a citizens of Nigeria and must have attained the age of 18 years on or before the registration day.

He said For In-person Registration which starts on 25th August, 2025, potential voters are charged to visits INEC Offices in all the 16 Local Governments Areas across the State and the INEC Kwara State Head Office.
Doctor Longpet warned that the Electoral Umpire would not tolerate under aged and double registration.
Doctor Longpet maintained that Kwara State has 16 Local Government Area, 193 Registration Areas (RA), 2,887 Polling Units (PU) with a total of 1,695,927 Register Voters.
He posited that the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) collected by voters before the 2023 general election stood at 1,537,275 which gave a collection percentage of 90.65%.
Doctor explained that the Electoral Act 2022 as amended empowers the Commission to issue regulations, guidelines or manuals for the purpose of the conduct of the registration of voters and revision of the register of voters.
