National Youth Games 2025: Athletes Decry Poor Treatment, Inadequate food In Asaba

Athletes currently camping at Dennis Osadebey University Hostel have decried poor treatment ahead of the commencement of 9th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.
The athletes expressed their feeling while speaking with Journalists at the camp.
According to them, those in charge of accommodations and feeding failed in their respective responsibilities of catering for the contingents across the 36 states and the FCT.
The athletes also lamented over the uncomfortable  accommodation, unstable power as well as unavailability water supply.
They also frowned at the inadequate food provision as huge number of athletes and officials are starved.
As the games will commence on Friday 29 August, athletes expressed concerned if the welfare of the athletes not improved, that could affect their performances in the games.
