9th National Youth Games: Team Kwara Wins Medal In Karate, Para-Table Tennis

Awe David and Adam Ajayi have earned silver and bronze medal respectively for Team Kwara in Karate events.
The duo set the record to be the first event Kwara State won medal in the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State Capital.
On Para-Table Tennis, Kwara male player, Ridwan Mustapha clinched a bronze medal in single’s boys event in Para-Table Tennis and Table Tennis commenced yesterday as Team Kwara competed in boys and mixed doubles event.
In Fives, Gana Grace has qualified for the final in single’s female category as the doubles event also commenced at Government House Asaba Squash Court.
Similarly, Team Kwara tasted defeat in the male single’s category as they eye more better performance in subsequent games while in Handball, Team Kwara lost their first match against Delta State 18-29 as they aim to bounce back from the defeat when they take on Team Ogun in the second game today
Events such as Ayo, Boxing, Cricket, Volleyball, and Handball, continue as events like Shooting, Swimming, Cycling and Taekwondo will begins today as Team Kwara in high spirit finish in the events listed respectively.
Team Kwara has 1 Silver, 1 Bronze in Karate and 1 Bronze in Para-Table Tennis as at the time of filling this report.
Also, Kwara State Karate Association has applauded Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq for his unwavering support in the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba.
This is contained in a statement signed by Kwara State Karate Association Secretary, Abubakar Aliyu.
The statement praised Governor Abdulrazaq’s financial and moral support for Team Kwara featuring in the sport event.
The statement, noted that the Governor has demonstrated his commitment to the development of sports in the state.
It pointed out that Governor Abdulrazaq’s support is pivotal to the advancement of Karate particularly in aiding athletes to perform tremendously.
Similarly, the Association also hailed Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Magaji for his dedication towards ensuring Karate effectively represented at the Youth Games.
The statement recognized Coach Magaji’s relentless efforts in prioritizing Karate and commended legendary handballer, Mr. Femi Robert, for his generous cash reward to silver medalist, Awe David.
The duo of Awe David and Adam Ajayi claimed silver and bronze medal respectively for Team Kwara in Karate event.
