Kwara State Contingent to the just concluded year 2025 National Youth Games, held in Asaba, Delta State, has safely arrived Ilorin metropolis as the Commission Chairman, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Magaji appreciated Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq, for being morally and financially supportive of the team all through the sporting activities.
This is contained in a statement issued from the office of the Commission Chairman, in Ilorin today, which confirmed that the journey was hitch free.
The Statement by the Press Secretary, Kwara State Sports Commission, Saheed Abdullahi, explained that, the contingent comprised of athletes, coaches, sports secretaries, medical and media personnel as well as other officials arrived and contingency arrived the State Capital safe and sound.
It disclosed that Kwara athletes garnered 15 gold, 10 silver and 19 bronze in 24 out of 37 sport events including squash, table tennis, lawn tennis, swimming, wrestling, Judo, Dart and power lifting among others, to secure 5th position in the national tourney.
Speaking on the arrival, Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Magaji commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his financial and moral supports for team Kwara.
Mallam Magaji also saluted the dogedness of athletes, for making the state proud, particularly in winning medals for the state and others who contributed to the success of the team.
