Sports administrator and former Vice Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Alhaji Owolabi Agbaji Wopa has been elected as the North Central representative in the Aquatic (Swimming) Sports Federation of Nigeria.
The keenly contested election took place today, the 27th September 2025 in Jos, Plateau State, drawing stakeholders from across the region.
Wopa’s emergence is seen as a major boost for Kwara State and the entire North Central zone, given his longstanding contributions to sports development, particularly youth empowerment.
Known for his deep passion for grassroots talent discovery and sports administration, Wopa has played an influential role in nurturing young athletes and supporting competitive structures in Kwara and beyond.
His election is expected to further strengthen the region’s voice in the federation while promoting aquatic sports development at both grassroots and professional levels.
