Fidau was today held for the repose of the soul late Ace Broadcaster, Abdulrazaq Akanbi of Nigerian Television Authority, NTA.
The Fidau took place the family residence of deceased at Olowo Iyi Compound, Alapta, Eruda, Ilorin.
In his sermon Ilorin-Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Ibrahim Nurudeen Zubair Al-Mimitri described death as inevitable to every living soul irrespective of social status, colour or creed.
Shaikh Al-Mimitri pointed out that late Abdulrazaq Akanbi was tested by Allah but never affected his piety.
He explained that late Akanbi came from a large family and blessed with only one daughter but she did not survive him.
The Islamic Cleric said despite that, the deceased remained firm in the fold of Islam.
Sheikh Al-Mistri reminded mourners of the potency of vanity on earth and urged to rekindle their spiritual rejuvenation to earn Allah’s favour.
Meanwhile, Imam of Elegede, Doctor Abdul-hameed Thani led the congregation in the rendition of some portions of glorious Qur’an to supplicate to Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest.
The messages of Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Engineer Alapansanpa, Danmasanin of Ilorin, Turaki of Ilorin, Senator Saliu Mustapha, Comerade Issa Aremu, Shettima of Ilorin were all delivered.
The Fidau witnessed large out of mourners from his professional colleagues, friends Idiagbede,Idiaro, Eruda, Alapata, Sanni Okin communities and beyond.
It would be recalled that Late Abdulrazaq Abdulrazaq Akanbi of NTA died 11th October, 2025 and survived by his wife and two grandchildren.
