The family of late Chief C.O. Adebayo has  clearly distanced itself from the remarks made by the Archbishop of Kwara Anglican Province, Bishop Israel Amao, during the burial service of our late father last Saturday at Oke-Onigbin.
This is contained in a statement by the family signed by Bukunola Ajayi Nee Adebayo.
The statement said those comments did not reflect views of the family and uttered without the family’s knowledge or endorsement.
The family explained that their father was a man of peace who respected the constituted authority, but rather unfortunate that his funeral was used as a platform for such remarks.
According to the statement, the remarks in its entirety did not reflect our late father’s values.
It noted that the Bishop’s message was, therefore, not known to any family member beforehand, or was he selected by the family.
Late C.O Adebayo’s family deeply regretted any discomfort caused to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, reaffirmed its respect and appreciation for the support extended to the family during the burial ceremony.
The statement maintained that It is out of place for anyone to suggest that the preacher was chosen to undermine the state government and identified such as entirely false and malicious.
C. O Adebayo’s family reiterated its resolve in maintaining a cordial relationship with the Kwara State Government under Governor Abdulrazaq
